Futureproof is een vervolg op het Snelloket Corona Projecten dat het Amsterdams Fonds voor de Kunst (AFK) in samenwerking met de gemeente Amsterdam (Kunst en Cultuur, Digitale Stad, Evenementenfonds) in april dit jaar lanceerde. Er was €300.000 beschikbaar en het budget was binnen no-time besteed.

Voor een nieuwe openstelling van het loket heeft het AFK wederom budget beschikbaar gesteld. Dit is echter niet voldoende en daarom doet fonds nu ook een beroep op de heldhaftigheid en barmhartigheid van alle cultuurliefhebbers en iedereen met een hart voor Amsterdam. De vastberadenheid die wij voelen om Amsterdamse makers meer perspectief te bieden is groot. Doe je mee?

Futureproof is bedoeld voor de makers van Amsterdam. Kunstenaars, fotografen, acteurs, dansers, theatermakers, verhalenvertellers, filmmakers, animatoren, schrijvers en musici. Zij maken van onze stad de Stad. Zij maken Amsterdam.

Bij een succesvolle campagne, opent het AFK in september het Futureproof Snelloket. Wij roepen dan specifiek makers met toekomstgerichte plannen op aan te melden. In de beoordeling volgen we het bestaande uitvoeringsbesluit Snelloket Corona Projecten. De Procedure aanmelden Snelloket wordt op basis van de ervaringen uit april dit jaar wel geoptimaliseerd.

STEUN DE MAKER OM TE KUNNEN BLIJVEN MAKEN
Zonder makers is er geen creatieve industrie, geen inspirerende stad.
En juist voor veel makers staat nu de toekomst op het spel. Er zijn inmiddels heel wat steunmaatregelen gepresenteerd en budgetten beschikbaar gesteld. Dit is mooi en broodnodig. Maar individuele makers kunnen van vrijwel geen van deze mogelijkheden gebruik maken. En toch moeten ook zij, naast overleven, hun beroepspraktijk aanpassen. Het AFK start daarom deze crowdfundingcampagne; om de maker te steunen om te kunnen blijven maken.

Het Amsterdams Fonds voor de Kunst is een uniek stadsfonds. Al sinds 1972 zet het zich in voor een divers en levendig cultuuraanbod in de stad Amsterdam. Nog nooit heeft het AFK een beroep gedaan op het publiek om bij te dragen. Tot nu toe.

Wij voelen ons hiertoe genoodzaakt, door de noodsituatie waarin veel makers verkeren. Hiermee staat ook de toekomst van Amsterdam als creatieve stad op het spel.

Waarom gaat het AFK crowdfunden?
Tien jaar geleden is crowdfundingplatform voordekunst.nl uit het AFK ontstaan om meer draagvlak te creëren voor kunst en cultuur en het ondernemerschap bij makers en instellingen te stimuleren. Het AFK ziet dat er op dit moment meer budget nodig is voor makers en toont ondernemerschap door zelf actief te zoeken naar extra financiering. De inwoners van Amsterdam en cultuurliefhebbers hebben baat bij een bruisend cultureel Amsterdam. Dit maakt Amsterdam de stad die het is. Om iedereen een kans te geven bij te dragen is crowdfunding de meest logische oplossing.

Is dit een taak van het AFK?
Stichting Amsterdams Fonds voor de Kunst heeft als doel het bevorderen van de kwaliteit, dynamiek en pluriformiteit van kunst en cultuur in Amsterdam. Dit heeft het AFK tot nu toe altijd met de door de gemeente Amsterdam beschikbaar gestelde middelen gedaan of naar redelijkheid kunnen doen. Nu we zien dat de nood in de sector en onder makers hoog is, voelen wij de urgentie en vastberadenheid te onderzoeken hoe ons budget verruimd kan worden. De crowdfundingcampagne Futureproof is hier een eerste verkenning van.

Is het werven van private middelen een eenmalige actie?
Momenteel ervaren we door de corona crisis grote druk op de beschikbare middelen. We verwachten dat de impact van corona nog langer door zal werken, dus daarom onderzoekt het AFK mogelijkheden om budgetten ook op de langere termijn te verruimen. De crowdfundingcampagne Futureproof is hier een eerste verkenning van.

Waarom Futureproof?
Hoewel de gevolgen van covid-19 ongetwijfeld nog meer voelbaar gaan worden, kijken we met Futureproof vooruit. Juist kunst en cultuur spelen hierbij een essentiële rol. Zonder verbeelding, geen toekomst.
Daarnaast adviseren we iedere aanvrager bij het AFK om te streven naar een diverse financieringsmix. Futureproof is dan ook een toekomstverkenning of het AFK aanvullende financiering kan / moet aanboren.

Hoe verhoudt het AFK zich nu tot andere fondsenwervende initiatieven?
Het AFK is een breed stadsfonds voor alle kunstdisciplines. Dat onderscheidt ons al van veel andere initiatieven die of landelijk opereren of gericht zijn op bepaalde disciplines. Via het AFK geef je niet aan één maker, maar stimuleer je het hele Amsterdamse veld.

Kan ik ook op andere manieren bijdragen, naast doneren?Zeker, graag zelfs! Is Stichting Amsterdams Fonds voor de Kunst een ANBI?
Nee. Althans, nog niet. We zijn in contact met het ANBI team van de Belastingdienst. Indien voor het doen van een donatie eerder duidelijkheid wenselijk is, neem dan contact op met Roy Cremers, Development AFK.

Ik wil zakelijk bijdragen. Hoe zit het dan?
Als je (als ondernemer) een BV hebt, kun je ook zakelijk geven vanuit je BV. Voor een eenmanszaak, CV, VOF, etc. gelden de regels van particuliere giften.

Jaarlijkse giften boven de € 0 tot een maximum van 50% van de fiscale winst zijn voor de Vennootschapbelasting aftrekbaar.
Giften zijn in een BV beperkt aftrekbaar, bedrijfskosten volledig. Het kan daarom slim zijn om een zakelijke gift ‘om te buigen’ naar bedrijfskosten, bijvoorbeeld door het plaatsen van een advertentie, sponsoren van de instelling of een activiteit. Is dit het geval? SUPPORT A FUTURE FOR AMSTERDAM AND ITS MAKERS

Futureproof is a follow-up to the ‘Snelloket for Corona Projects’ that the Amsterdam Funds for the Arts (AFK) launched in April this year in collaboration with the municipality of Amsterdam (Art and Culture, Digital City, Event Fund). €300,000 was made available and this budget was spent in no time.

That is why AFK once again made budget available to re-open its digital ‘Snelloket’ counter. However, this is not enough and that is why AFK now appeals to the valiancy and compassion of all culture lovers and everyone with a heart for Amsterdam.

In Futureproof, the focus is on the makers of Amsterdam. Artists, photographers, actors, dancers, theatre makers, storytellers, filmmakers, animators, writers, and musicians. They make our city, a City. They make Amsterdam.

How does AFK/Futureproof spend donations?
When the campaign succeeds, the AFK will most probably re-open the ‘Snelloket’ 2.0 in September 2020. We call on all makers with a cultural practice to apply, especially those who are looking to apply with particularly future oriented plans. We have learned from our experiences from when we first opened the ‘Snelloket’ in Spring 2020 and we have a procedure in place that does justice to makers in the city.

SUPPORT MAKERS TO CONTINUE MAKING
Without artists and creators, there is no cultural sector nor a creative capital. And precisely the future of many of these artists and creators is now at stake, and with them also the future of a creative Amsterdam.

A variety of aid measures have been presented and budgets have been made available. This is wonderful and much needed. However, virtually none of these options are available for these individuals to make use of. And yet, in addition to surviving and getting by, they need to adjust their professional practices to keep making their work. This is why the AFK launched this crowdfunding campaign; to support makers to continue making.

The Amsterdam Fund for the Arts is a unique city fund. It has been committed to contributing to a diverse and vibrant cultural climate in the city of Amsterdam since 1972. The AFK has never called on the public to contribute. Up until now.

Due to the emergency in which many visual and performing artists currently find themselves, we are compelled to act. We are determined to offer Amsterdam and its makers more perspective.

Why does AFK start this crowdfunding campaign?
Ten years ago AFK was founding father of crowdfunding platform voordekunst.nl. This platform was launched to raise more private support for art and culture and to encourage entrepreneurial skills among artists and art institutions. The Amsterdam cultural sector and the budgets available for arts and culture are currently, due to covid-19, under great pressure, which is why AFK now calls on crowdfunding to generate more available budget for the makers of this city. Crowdfunding is the best way to encourage the ones who benefit most from a vivid cultural city, its inhabitants and the culture lovers.

Is crowdfunding a task for AFK?
As a foundation, the Amsterdam Fund for the Art aims to promote the quality, dynamism and diversity of arts and culture in Amsterdam. There is currently due to covid-19 great pressure on available resources for arts and culture, which is why AFK is committed to expanding the available budgets for makers that contribute to the vibrant cultural scene of the city.

Is this initiative by AFK to raise private funds a one-off action?
We foresee that the impact of covid-19 will be felt for a much longer period of time. This will most probably keep our budgets under pressure, so we need to explore options to raise extra funding. Besides that we are currently 100% publicly funded, whilst we encourage applicants to pursue a broad mix of funding opportunities. So, we figured that it wouldn’t hurt for AFK to investigate whether private financing can make a difference for the availability and scope of our own available funding budget. This crowdfunding campaign is that investigation. We take the lessons we learn during this campaign with us and later during this year we will decide whether we will focus on raising private funds as an additional cash flow to support projects on a more structural basis.

Why ‘Futureproof’?
The future of makers is at stake. With this campaign we want to make their future more secure. So literally more future-proof. As mentioned above we also explore the possibilities to expand our budgets in order to guarantee the quality, dynamism and diversity of arts and culture in Amsterdam.

How does Futureproof by AFK compare to other fundraising initiatives?
The AFK is a city fund for all art disciplines. By becoming a patron of Futureproof, you do not just give to one specific maker through AFK, but you are helping us to support the cultural field of Amsterdam in a way broader sense. This makes us unique.
