Dit project geeft je 5 nieuwe stukken (met mp3)

- om live te spelen zodra corona over is
- z**odra de maatregelen rond corona het toelaten komen we bij elkaar en spelen we de stukken live met iedereen die aan dit project meedoet.

Speel je in een (straat)orkest en ben je verstoken van je wekelijkse repetitie? Van de optredens met je orkest? Mis je de muziek in je leven? Raak je er op uitgekeken om je partijen steeds maar in je eentje door te spelen? Je bent niet de enige!

Overal zitten muzikanten thuis terwijl ze niets liever doen dan samenspelen. Dat is een heel gemis. Geen nieuw repertoire instuderen, niet naar optredens toewerken en opeens niet meer het vanzelfsprekende vooruitzicht van een groepsreis of festival deze zomer. En daarvoor zit je nu juist in een (straat)orkest!

Toch is het niet nodig om bij de pakken neer te zitten. Ik wil nieuwe muziek voor je schrijven waar je thuis mee aan de slag kunt. Met goede begeleidingstracks van echte muzikanten (geen computer) zodat het lekker klinkt en leuk is om te doen.

Orkesten die dat willen kunnen de stukken opnemen in hun repertoire. Leuk om te weten dat niet alleen jij, maar met jou een heleboel andere muzikanten dezelfde muziek aan het instuderen zijn. Klaar om deze live met elkaar te spelen zodra dat weer mag! Midden in de crisis kunnen we ons op deze manier muzikaal met elkaar verbinden.

Nieuwe stukken is nieuwe inspiratie

De stukken worden digitaal thuisbezorgd! Je hoeft er niets voor te doen. En het instuderen? Dat moet je natuurlijk wel zelf doen, maar je krijgt er alle mogelijke support bij om het leuk en inspirerend te maken.

Een stuk op maat voor je bandje?
Als je niet in een orkest maar in bijvoorbeeld een saxofoon- of koperkwartet speelt is het ook mogelijk de stukken te spelen. Het kan zijn dat er dan wat geschoven moet worden met welke stemmen voor welke instrumenten. Dat vereist wat maatwerk. Mail me je vraag en ik laat je weten wat de extra kosten zijn.

Geen droge noten maar levende muziek!

We’ll Be Back levert je niet alleen goede, afwisselende en lekker leesbare partijen maar ook door professionals ingespeelde mp3's, zo aanstekelijk als het virus, waardoor je van meet af aan muzikaal bezig bent tijdens het instuderen.

EINDE LOCKDOWN PARTY
Zodra het kan zien we elkaar live en spelen samen!

Stel je voor, je hebt een paar maanden niet kunnen samenspelen. Gelukkig wel je skills onderhouden met dit project. Hoe leuk is het om na afloop te ontmoeten en de heropening van de straten te vieren met live muziek?

Orkesten spelen voor elkaar hun eigen repertoire, maar er is iets nieuws: muzikanten en orkesten spelen de stukken uit dit project met elkaar samen terwijl ze elkaar nog nooit hebben gezien! In kleine spontane groepjes of met iedereen die er is tegelijk. Ik word al blij van de gedachte alleen.

Er is nog zoveel onduidelijk over Corona en hoe het verdergaat met de 1,5 meter samenleving dat nu nog niet duidelijk is hóe we het gaan doen, maar één ding is zeker: als we straks de straat weer op mogen is dat beslist een feestje waard!

Kan ik ook meedoen als ik geen (straat)muzikant ben?

Jazeker! Iedereen die de muziek in Nederland een warm hart toedraagt is welkom. Je ondersteunt daarmee het muziekplezier van zowel makers als publiek en ontvangt als dank de mp3’s van alle stukken. Zie de kolom met tegenprestaties rechts.

Het verloop van het project: hoe gaan we te werk?

Vanaf 1 mei rolt er iedere twee weken op vrijdag een stuk in je mailbox waardoor je tot de zomer verzekerd bent van een constante aanvoer van verse inspirerende muziek. Vijf stukken in totaal.

Je bijdrage is voor mij als componist en arrangeur van de muziek. Voor de muzikanten die thuis, coronaproof, de mp3’s inspelen, voor het mixen en editen van de muziek en het versturen van de mp3 muziekbestanden.

Wat kun je verwachten?

• Van ieder stuk een goed leesbare partij
• Een mp3 van het stuk
• Een mp3 opname met jouw partij alleen of luider
• Een mp3 ‘minus one’: de totale muziek zonder jouw instrument
• Alle stukken voor jouw instrument in een mooi gebonden boekje. De corona-suite compleet.
• Support in de vorm van online (zoom) lessen.

Over mij

Mijn naam is Onno van Swigchem. Ik ben saxofonist, componist, arrangeur en bandleider. Ik heb in mijn hele muzikale bestaan veel op straat gespeeld met allerlei bezettingen: van trio tot saxofoonkwartet, van octet tot fanfare.

Ik ben leraar en workshopleider en als repetitor verbonden aan de Fanfare van de Eerste Liefdesnacht en Orkest de Tegenwind en schreef het boek 'Speel Jezelf, gids voor de ontwikkeling van je innerlijk muzikantschap'.

Connection through music in times of Corona: new pieces for musicians who are sitting home right now.

Are you a (street)orchestra member finding yourself deprived of your weekly rehearsal? Wish you had gigs to look forward to? Or do you just miss music? Have you heard enough of you playing your parts, by yourself, continually? You’re not the only one…

Musicians everywhere are stuck at home when all they want to do is play together. That’s quite a loss. No new repertoire to study, no show to prepare for and no annual summertrip to look forward to. Weren’t those the things you were in a street orchestra for in the first place?

Well, don’t throw in the towel just yet. I’m writing you fresh pieces to work at from home. Good backing tracks, played by real life musicians, will ensure you’ll have fun in the learning process, while sounding great, too!

In the midst of crisis we can connect through music. It will be good to know that not only you, but plenty of other musicians, too, will all be studying the same pieces, ready to play them live as soon as we can! In the midst of the crisis we can connect through music!

Get inspired

Learning something new will reboost your musical process. The pieces will be brought to you digitally, so you need not make any effort in that area. Learning to play them, of course, you will have to do yourself, but you’ll get all the support you need in making it fun and inspiring.

Orchestras

Orchestras can use a piece for their own repertoire. I will make sure it fits the instrumentation and if you wish, I can lead a rehearsal after the crisis. Check out the compensations alongside.

Custom piece for you and your band?

If you do not play in an orchestra but in, say, a saxophone- or cupperquartet, you can still play the pieces. Some rearranging of the parts will be necessary, but customisation is a possibility. You can mail me with questions. I will notify you on extra costs.

Backing tracks catchy like the virus

This project not only provides you with quality and easy-reading sheet music, it also offers mp3 backing tracks, recorded by professionals, making sure your learning process is musical from the start. No nerdy notation but real, living music.

And who knows… we’ll see eachother after all?

Imagine, for a few months you haven’t been able to play together. Luckily you’ve been keeping up your skills with this project. How great would it be to finally meet and celebrate the reopening of the streets with live music?

Traditionally, orchestras play their own repertoire for eachother, but here’s something else: musicians and orchestras playing the same pieces, the pieces from this project, together, without even having met before! Small, spontaneous formations or everyone at the same time, all together. Whatever the moment will bring. The thought alone makes me happy.

Although, with the current uncertainties, it cannot grow much bigger than a thought. Perhaps someone reading this will pick up on the idea and arrange a meeting, big or small. Mail me if you have an idea! Once we can get back out on the streets together, shouldn’t there be music to celebrate it with?

I’m not a (street) musician, can I join?

Of course you can! Everybody wanting to contribute to music in the Netherlands (optie: music _outside_of on the streets) is welcome! Support the players as well as the makers and receive the mp3’s of all the pieces as a thank-you gift.

Working process

Once this project has earned enough support (80% of the target amount), I will get writing. In addition to that, a group of professional musicians is ready to record the pieces immediately once they are written. From the first of May, every other Friday a new piece of music will show up in your mailbox, making sure you’re provided with a constant supply of fresh and inspiring music. Five pieces in total. After that there will be perchance be a possibility to subscribe to a continuation.

Please note: if you donate before or on Easter Monday, meaning: during the first ten days of this crowdfunding, you will receive an extra arrangement for duo instrumentation, suitable for all instruments, provided with mp3’s.

I’m writing a few pieces in advance, making sure that in case I get ill, which I don’t hope, the project is still able to continue. In case it gets very serious, I will look for a suitable solution in time. You will keep the rights to the pieces.

Your contribution will be to support me as a composer and arranger, and to support the musicians who will be recording in their corona proof home environments. For the mixing and editing of the music and for sending mp3’s around.

What to expect?

• A good score of every piece.
• An accompanying mp3.
• An mp3 with your part amplified.
• Een mp3 ‘minus one’: all parts except your part.
• Afterwards: all pieces bound together in a booklet, the complete corona suite.
• Support through online (zoom) classes (optional).
• Orchestras, in addition to al these facilities, receive a score and (optional) a rehearsal guided by me, by donation.

About me

My name is Onno van Swigchem, saxophone player, composer, arranger and bandleader. I've been playing on the streets all through my musical career, in trio, saxophone quartet, octet and fanfare.

I am a teacher and workshop leader and leading the rehearsals of the Fanfare van de Eerste Liefdesnacht and Orkest de Tegenwind (parttime).

I wrote the book 'Play Yourself, a guide for developing your inner musicianship' which will be out in English in september.
